Starting as a series of delightfully geeky amusing anecdotes by our favorite PC, this video ends so very sweetly, you’ll be glad you took the 16 some odd minutes to watch it.

A Holiday Wish

in connect, musings by faryl on December 25th, 2008No Comments

When I watched this video by Ian Dunbar, what struck me most is that the lesson it teaches around perspective and expectations could be applied to people as well.

My holiday wish is we all take a moment to understand  each other’s perspectives, and adjust our actions and expectations accordingly.

I think the world might be a much nicer place if we all did this – do you?

Happy holidays, my friends!  I wish you all love, happiness & health.

Hugs,

Faryl

The Google of comedy and a Birthday Wish

in connect, etc., humor, musings by faryl on December 24th, 20082 Comments

As a birthday gift to my sweetie, I want to be dressed and ready early for our holiday plans – so today’s post will be short.

Since the gift of laughter is quite possibly the best gift someone can give, I thought I’d share this video of the Raspyni Brothers with you today. Happy holidays, my friends!

As described on their TED  bio page:

The Raspyni Brothers’ inventory of international championships, TV appearances and national tours may seem a lot to juggle, but then, Dan Holzman and Barry Friedman are jugglers by trade. Their waggish humor, irresistible stage presence and “panther-like reflexes” have turned these jesters from openers into the headline act. . . . Sergey Brin has remarked, “They’re the Google of comedy.” So, welcome to Vaudeville 2.0. read more

macy's day parade

macy's day parade

faryl note: I wrote this on Tuesday with the intention of posting it in the “sidenotes” section, as I wasn’t sure it belongs in the blog.

I changed my mind for two reasons – First, the Fearless Blogger posts what she wants where she wants.  More importantly, Thanksgiving was my dad’s favorite holiday.  Without Mike, it’s different.  I realized without Mike, Thanksgiving is like the “new Becky”.

I have so very many things to be thankful for and blessings to count, my memories of my father are among those.  I’m sharing this today because Thanksgiving belongs to Dad:

Remembering Michaels

Today is Veteran’s Day.

Today is meant to honor the living who fought for our country. My heart overflows with gratitude and respect for the men, women, boys and girls who have sacrificed their youth, health, families, and lives to fight on behalf of our country; on my behalf.

Veterans – I honor and respect each and every one of you. I know this country has a long way to go to “do right” by you, but I hope you don’t mind if I borrow a small corner of your day to honor the memory of two people this day may not technically belong to. read more
