New Sitcom Features David Cross & Will Arnett (some good news & some bad news about it)
in connect, favorites, humor, pop culture by faryl on December 3rd, 2009No CommentsThe good news:
Will Arnett and David Cross are back on TV in a new sitcom!
The bad news*:
The new show only airs in the UK.
*unless you live in the UK
Based on this three minute clip of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, my thoughts:
- It’s funny.
- People swear a lot on TV in the UK (or at least American characters do).
- It’s been too long since Will Arnett and David Cross have been featured in a sitcom.
- Hopefully the show will make its way to iTunes (and soon!).
- I forgot to mention that Spike Jonze is part of the cast too.
- I am shallow enough to consider (if only for a fleeting moment) moving to the UK solely to be able to watch a television show.
Here’s the clip:

Awesome Sauce: Neil Young Covers Fresh Prince
in connect, consume, favorites, pop culture by faryl on November 24th, 2009No CommentsThis post goes out to all the Neil Young/Fresh Prince fans out there.
Well – Jimmy Fallon as Neil Young, that is. But it’s a cool cover nonetheless! And maybe one day?

in etc., favorites, musings by faryl on November 3rd, 20094 CommentsI was trying to think of a blog post topic that would give me a good excuse to share this photo of little Jazz (my nephew).
It occurred to me that whenever I find something that puts a smile on my face, I like to include it here, so I can share the smile with you.
Well, looking at this picture, I can’t help but smile ear-to-ear. I hope it puts a grin on your face too!
(I think that’s as good enough of an excuse for a blog post as any – don’t you?)
Happy belated Halloween! May the force be with you!!
How did you get here?
in blogging, connect, favorites, musings by faryl on January 13th, 20092 CommentsIncluded with my daily WordPress blog stats is a list of terms people used to find my blog.
If I was more focused on SEO, my fascination with these terms might have a more strategic focus. Instead, I love looking to see the random ways people happen upon my corner of the world wide web.
Looking at the terms, I can usually tell which of my posts the person ended up visiting. Many times, the connection is so abstract, I can’t help but wonder what their reaction is when they find themselves here.
Granted, I’m sure there’s a lesson in this for me on how to better tag my posts and leverage key words for more accurate search results. But for now, I’m looking at the terms solely for purposes of my own amusement.
I’ve decided to use this post to capture some of my favorites. read more

Inside the Bloggers Studio: Chris Blake
Chris Blake is an example of why I love sites like Twitter. I’m not sure how our tweets crossed paths, but I am glad they did. Chris is a talented musician. I love his music, but music reviews are not what I do best. Instead, to give you an idea of why I <3 Chris, I’m “borrowing” from another TV institution. Today’s installment of Inside the Bloggers Studio will be prefaced by my own “Top 10 List”. [click on the star image to read more]
by faryl on January 27th, 2009Inside the Bloggers Studio: Meet Mitch Wagner
I’ll be honest with you. I’d planned to write a riveting mini-bio on today’s featured guest, Mitch Wagner.
See, Mitch is an incredibly interesting guy. It’s only fair to write something incredibly interesting about him then, right?
But Mitch had to go ahead and – *gasp!* – upstage the blogger.
That’s right. You heard me. Upstaged. Me. I can’t compete with Mitch’s answers . Anything I could write would pale in comparison. [click star to read full post]
by faryl on January 22nd, 2009Inside the Bloggers Studio: I only have eyes for Moo!
I’ve previously shared my crush on a blog. Now it’s my turn to share my crush on a company: MOO.
When I first cast my eyes on MOO’s cutesy little StickerBooks – little booklets of vinyl stickers made from your own pictures – I went weak in the knees. [click the star graphic to read more]
