about
Hi, I’m Faryl!
This is my blog.

This is what I look like
It’s nice to meet you.
Here are some of the basics about this blog and its author (me).
Creating. Connecting. Consuming.
That’s the blog in a nutshell, you can read details about my “vision” for this blog in my first post and in the Fearless Blogger SLA.
Update: Recently my focus has been on creating a healthy & balanced life for myself. In other words, I’m choosing to make creating the life I want a higher priority than creating websites.
Part of this process includes learning to manage my ADHD and OCD. I choose not to let my diagnoses define me. Still, I embrace that they’ve each had an integral influence on my life experience and perspective.
One of my goals is to share my story for others like me to connect with: We can feel stronger when we know we’re not alone.
So if you’re seeking blog posts on topics such as self-empowerment, goal-setting, spiritual health, mental health, ADHD, OCD, emetophobia, living with disabilities, etc. – stay tuned!
My Faves
Technology. Especially Apple (love my iphone!), the internet (social media’s my thing), web design, graphic design, gadgets (I want a Wii!)

This is Kaya Cher
Animals. Pretty much any type. Although some freak me out. Especially the ones with lots of legs. I especially love . . .
My cats. Marley and Kaya Cher (Cher because she’s a survivor). They don’t get along with each other. I’m not a crazy cat lady, but I do love my crazy cats. I also like photoshopping outfits onto them.
My family. If you talk to me for more than an hour without me mentioning my brother or my godson, you’ve caught me on a off day.
Pop Culture. I love movies, television, trends, fads, music. My taste is discerning enough to know that I like a lot of stuff I probably shouldn’t. Major faves are Ricky Martin, Justin Timberlake, “The Office”, “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report”.
Things that suck

Mayonnaise, you're on notice!
Mayonnaise. I like eggs. I like olive oil. I think mayonnaise is one of the nastiest substances on the planet. Even disguised as “aioli”, “special sauce”, “pesto spread”, or other variation. Unless it’s in egg salad. Or potato salad. But only if the potato salad has eggs in it.
Math. Confession – when the check comes and people try to figure out how to split it, or what the tip should be, I may join them in staring at the flimsy greenish slip of paper – I may even hold it in my hand – but I’m just killing time in my head until someone tells me what my share is. I do have an unnatural affection for Excel and am fond of data – I just don’t like doing it all in my head.
Spoilers. Don’t ruin my love of pop culture by telling me the funniest part of the latest Seth Rogin movie, what happened on Lost, or who dies in the book I’m reading. And don’t even think of talking during a movie if you’re sitting in my vacinity (more for the sake of my friends – who’ll be mortified when I tell you to “shut it please”).
That tells you more about me than about the blog, I guess. But since it’s my blog and I tend to write about what I like (or don’t like), I guess it’s a good enough start!
It’s been a pleasure meeting you. Please leave a comment or send me a note to say hi!
