Microsoft would be much better served making the case that Macs and PC’s are a bit like apples and oranges: any serious gamer is probably going to have a PC, whereas I’m tempted to get a Mac just for ease of use with web-conferencing or making a v-log. I realize Microsoft is loathe to do this, given that it would pretty much make PC’s look more niche in some way than Macs, but I think it’s a smarter move than just being hammered for overall poor quality: the truth is that people demand a lot out of PC’s, and some of the PC’s they complain about are dirt cheap.

Microsoft is also doing itself no favors with its web presence: “Live Spaces” was never that well run, MSN messenger has been pretty buggy for me, and bing is about the only thing they’re doing right. Creating one very high quality thing on the web would go a long way for them.
