Hey Tom! My Links are NOT Like Head Lice!
Like many folks out there, I have profiles on many of the social networking websites and use each to connect with different people in different ways.
I’ve have my MySpace profile for a few years. I may not update my profile as frequently, but I still like myspace as a way to connect with friends, musicians, comedians and filmmakers that may find facebook a bit to dry/confining or may not have the professional need to join linkedin.

Easy to confuse, but not the same.
Recently, I’ve begun to use MySpace as a way to share recent updates on this blog or reach out to people regarding writing about them.
Recently, MySpace has been calling me a spammer. Or phisher.
Recently, MySpace has been comparing my links to head lice.
Really, Tom?
Here’s my problem. In an effort to demonstrate legitimate intentions, I included links to my sites in all the emails I sent. Now, instead of appearing legitimate, MySpace has basically replaced any chance of credibility with quite the opposite.
You see, when you click on one of my links, you get this:
I have contacted MySpace to find the correct way to include links in the future. But that doesn’t help my existing situation.
What do I do about the emails I sent?
If, in an effort to clarify the issue, I follow up with people I sent those links to, at best I come across like Jon Favreau leaving multiple answering machine messages at the beginning of Swingers. Even worse, I may add to the perception of being a true spammer.
And now I’m all itchy from reading about head lice.
